Near to unique?

Previously we boasted of being the first Photocamp in the UK; I can now state that we will be the first photographic BarCamp in Europe. We will also be (we believe) the first anywhere in the world for 2008.

Photocamps have been held in Vancouver, Canada (running as part of a wider event - it celebrated it’s fifth anniversary in 2007) and Birmingham, Alabama.

Anyhow - all the more reason to make Photocamp Leeds truly great!

What IS this PhotoCamp thing?

PhotoCamp Leeds will be ~~the UK’s~~ Europe’s first ‘unconference‘ dedicated to photography and imagemaking. Based on the principles of BarCamp; an event where the people that attend create the programme of sessions themselves. These events are open, participatory, democratic, ‘workshop’ events; the organisers and sponsors simply provide a venue, facilities, beverages and food!
